The cabin has been decorated and the outdoors came in! Lot’s of pine cones, birds, mistletoe, burlap and deer, of course. Here’s how the cabin looks this year. Hopefully you’ll get some good inspiration to build your own rustic winter wonderland. By the way, I have a lot of projects in the “cue.” Just waiting on some materials to arrive. I hope to post some furniture refurbishing projects very soon. Stay tuned….
Here’s my favorite garland – burlap and bells!
A mixture of whitetail deer and….well, some other sort of deer are running around the tree.
I love birds and feathers on a tree. There’s even a bird’s nest hidden among the branches.
Glass icicles reflect the light and add a lot of sparkle to a tree!
These stocking hangers are one of my favorite decorations.
Doesn’t everyone attempt to make a pine cone wreath at some point? Here’s my attempt (and probably last). My fingers were so cut up afterwards. Apparently there is a difference between northern and southern pine cones – the southern ones are SHARP! You need a little red at Christmas, even in a cabin. So I embellished with some red berries and birds.
I’m always on the hunt for unique types of mistletoe. These beaded beauties have been around for many holidays. Notice the deer mounts on the wall above?
Another useful idea for odd-shaped and random deer antlers – attach them to a wreath! They can withstand the elements for sure.
This item was a find – burlap and deer.
There are so many great ways to top a tree. My favorite is with birds.
I wish you an enjoyable time decorating this year and hope you have a few rustic ideas in your decorating plans! Cheers!
